myShaddi.in Raises First Round Of Funding From IAN


New Delhi: A wedding planning portal, myShaadi.in, has raised their first round of angel funding from Indian Angel Network. The investors include Rajan Anandnan, Sunil Kalra, Ashim Mehnra and Rehan Yar Khan. The financial details are undisclosed yet and Rehan Yar Khan will join the Board of Directors of the company. The company plans to use the fund to strengthen operations and further innovate its suite of services.

Launched in February 2011, the Delhi based wedding planner portal was founded by Abhishek Jain. The site enables couples to plan wedding events, share invitations, share photographs along with features like budget calculator, shopping list, to do list, and several others. Till date, the site has served more than 13,000 couples and aims to have over one lakh couples by the end of this year.

Started in 2006, Indian Angel Network brings together highly successful entrepreneurs and CEOs from India and around the world who are interested in investing in startup or early stage ventures which have the potential of creating disproportionate value. The network looks at investing upto $1 million and exiting over a 3 to 5 year period through an IPO, M&A or strategic sale.
