Apart from these simple features, you can also use Markdown, Wiki or Textile syntax to format your text. The hints on how to use the syntaxes are in the help menu that can be easily called by pressing the F1 button. For example, if you want to make a piece of text bold, just start and end it with *asterisk and it will automatically become bold.

One of the application’s main aims is to teach people effectively work with text, and even not to touch the mouse when typing something. All this can be easily achieved by the multitude of hot key combinations available in Write! - There is hardly an action that can’t be done without a hotkey.

But these are only the positive aspects of the app, however as in every startup there are some drawbacks that are not as attractive as the features. For example the app does not export to *doc, *docx or even *pdf? You can only save your documents in Write!’s native format. However, there is an option to copy and paste it in Word or any other kind of word processor and the text formatting will remain unchanged.

As for importing, you can only open *txt documents, which is also a big gripe. Anyway, the company promises to broaden the supported formats in the future.
