Dinesh Agarwal:

A B.Tech graduate from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur, Dinesh Agarwal was working for HCL Technologies as Systems Analyst. He seems to have picked up interest in business while working for HCL. So, the ideology behind his company IndiaMart InterMesh was to help the Small and Medium Enterprises to market their products. This online market place now connects global buyers with suppliers.

It was indeed a challenging task for Dinesh to convince the customers to first buy the computers and then to help them in promotion of their business. Sooner the problem was to find an affordable office space, for which in 2007 he had spent 7 crore for a two acre plot in Noida.

IndiaMart InterMesh now has around 1 crore products and nearly 15 lakh suppliers. The company has also achieved various awards and nominations for its outstanding support to the start-up SMEs in the country.
