Global Tech Titans And Their Zeal For Indian Start-Ups


The founders’ aim was to help android app builders to optimize and better the performance of the mobile apps they develop. The total sum paid for the acquisition is not sure but it is said to be around $10-$15 million.

Yahoo acquires Bookpad: Bookpad, a Bangalore based startup created an online file editing service called Docspad. Docspad allows people to view, edit and create files from their app. yahooIt kind off has resemblance to Google Docs but with a little more sophistication. Yahoo acquired Bookpad for a price close to 50 crores. Bookpad is a little over a year old company launched by IIT-Guwahati graduates named Niketh Sabbineni, Aditya Bandi and Ashwik Reddy.

Google acquires Empermuim: There is no way that Google can be left out when it comes to acquisitions of startups, since they are the leading firm in acquiring small companies.  Empermium is a security company that deals with building products for websites. It deals with controlling spam, eliminating fraud and web abuse online. The company has offices in Bangalore and California.

Game Show Network acquires Bash Games: Bash Games was co-founded by Sumit Gupta back in 2008, lucky for him it was acquired by an U.S based company called Game Show Network. Bash Game started out as a social casino game on social media sites like Facebook, it later was made for android and apple iOS apps. It has over 4 million active users. GSN is planning to improve the platform and create a multiplayer platform with real prize money.
