Silicon Valley Based Startup Accelerator Tandem To Debut In India


Bangalore: The Silicon Valley based startup accelerator Tandem will soon be launching its operations in India backed by former Infosys director Mohandas Pai, Manipal Group scion Ranjan Pai  and Rohit Bhagat, former Chairman, Asia Pacific at BlackRock, now a partner at Tandem. The accelerator specifically backs mobile technology ventures hence  it is set to accelerate   20 early-stage ventures over the next year and raise capital for a third global fund that will be called, Habit, reports ET.

"We want to work with passionate entrepreneurs who use mobile technology to help people live and work better," said Rohit Bhagat.

Tandem is set to provide a seed capital of about 1.11 crore (about $200,000). It not only provides financial backing and occasional access to mentor networks but also helps in shaping each company  through strategic and operational support.
