Sandeep Led Medivo Acquires WellApps

New York: A New York based healthcare IT company Medivo has acquired WellApps, a mobile health innovator that develops disease management applications for patients with chronic illness.

Medivo was co-founded in 2010 by Sundeep Bhan, Destry Sulkes, and Jason Bhan as a provider of invaluable support services to patients and physician practices. The company has raised $7 million in series A funding in 2011 led by Safeguard Scientifics.

In addition, this acquisition will increase our ability to address a broader set of medical conditions, which will have a positive impact on our patients and physicians,” says Sandeep Bhan, Co-Founder and CEO, Medivo.

Sandeep has over 15 years of leadership experience with building teams, developing talent and successfully growing, managing and selling businesses in healthcare marketing and technology. Prior to this, he was the CEO and co-founder of Medsite that was later sold to WebMDin 2006. Sandeep received his BA from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Pennsylvania, with a concentration in business from the Wharton School of Business. He is currently a Director of the Board of Terasol Energy and serves on the Advisory Board of KNB Communications.

WellApps was co-founded by Edward Shin MD, Brett Shamosh, and Paolo Tedodorani. The company offers users the ability to socialize in real-time as they track their conditions, making GI Monitor one of the most active global social communities for IBD patients.
