Flipkart Seeks Another Round Of Funding, Valued At $10 Billion


BANGALORE: Flipkart is one of the most successful e-commerce companies in India; actually they are reportedly the most popular and most visited in India. They are setting the e-commerce trend for Indian startup companies. Flipkart is one successful story that will be told for years to come. The company has made few mistakes in terms of marketing the brands they sell. They completely went off the hill with their recently concluded 1 billion sales days. This has wrought criticisms from numerous companies.

Well forgetting that and recounting their funds raising campaigns, Flipkart has one of the most amazing rounds of investments. In this year itself they had conducted two rounds of fund raising where they raised $210 million and $1 billion respectively.

The company has not opened up about how much they are expecting but it is believed that it could be close to $10 billion. If the company can pull this through it will surely keep them at the top of the race among e-commerce companies in India. Flipkart’s existing investors like Tiger Global Management, Accel Partners and DST Global are among those who will be investing once again in this edition.

The value of Flipkart id only increasing as the company’s worth is expected to be $70 billion in the next five to six years. Their number of users is also increasing with an expected user number to rise to 40 million in the next two years. So investors should look to make the most of it.
