 With the initial excitement that slowly died down startups were seen dismissing staffs. Housing.com had reportedly laid-off over 800 employees, Zomato sacked 10pct of its workforce while TinyOwl removed 200 people

 

Alibaba makes its entry in India

 

Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba's Chairman Jack Ma made big news with their first ever investment in India, in a startup called Paytm.  Soon after, Shenzhen-based Tencent made an investment in Practo which is a healthcare startup.
