Rackspace: The publicly-listed enterprise cloud services company, Rackspace is also one of the Cloud service providers that offer special packages for start-ups. Startups that join the Rackspace program get a big discount on cloud hosting. It introduced the startup program at the Southwest interactive festival in March 2011.

Initially, the program was limited to startups in four places including Mountain View, CA-based 500 Startups, Boulder, CO-based TechStars, Mountain View-based Y Combinator, and General Assembly, a New York-based networking of co-working campuses.

But, later it the program has expanded rapidly, and now includes many types of startup programs, including venture-based accelerators at firms like Charles River Ventures; university-based accelerators like Berkeley Skydeck and Stanford’s StartX; sector-specific accelerators such as Rock Health to name some.

Dropbox: One of the best-known free cloud storage systems, Dropbox is a file hosting service operated by Dropbox that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, personal cloud, and client software.

It also allows users to create a special folder on each of their computers, which Dropbox later synchronizes so that it appears in the same folder (with the same contents) despite which computer is used to view it.

One of its major advantages is that it offers clients specifically designed for Linux and Blackberry systems as well as the more standard OS offerings. As such, Dropbox can likely be user friendly. It is one of the most used cloud services by startups.
