Kevin Plank is an American CEO and Founder of Under Armour, a leading manufacturer of sports performance apparel, footwear and accessories. The 23-year old former special teams captain of the University of Maryland football team noticed that the cotton T-shirts he and his teammates wore underneath their pads were always soaked and heavy with sweat. That’s when he decided to start the apparel line manufacturing in his grandmother’s basement in Washington, DC. He made T-shirt built from microfibers that absorbed moisture and kept athletes cool, dry, and light.
