3. Aravali Ranges
Aravali Ranges, which is situated in Rajasthan. Aravali literally means Line Of Peaks. It spreads over 800 kilometers in northeastern direction. They are considered to be the oldest mountains in India. This mountain range is rich in mining activity and these Ranges dates back to pre-Indian sub continental plate which collided with the mainland Eurasian Plate 7 to 11 million years ago. Now these Ranges have become a great trekking destination in the country.
4. Western Ghats
The Sahyadri Mountains that covers the western region of the country including Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are called as the Western ghats. Here all the major south Indian hills stations come under one roof. The three great hill stations that come in this region are Sahyadri Mountains, Nilgiri hills and Anaimali hills.
