Mahindra TUV300 vs EcoSport vs Creta vs S-Cross

Engine Specifications

The new Mahindra TUV300 will be powered by a 1.5 liter three-cylinder turbocharged mHawk engine that churns out 84PS with the 5-speed manual and 81PS with the AMT automatic variant. Although it seems underpowered looking at the above number the TUV300 gets 230Nm of torque which is impressive.  It gives a fuel efficiency of 18.5 km per litre and can seat up to seven people but the 3rd row two side facing jump seats are very congesting.

The Ford EcoSport on the other hand has a long list of variants offered with a 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel trims but its award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine still stands out among the above upcoming models and is also the most powerful of the lot in this segment.

While the Hyundai Creta has impressed by clocking some record booking this august, it is been offered with 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel motors in a total of four trim levels - Base, S, SX and SX (Optional).

The S-Cross is offered in two diesel options – a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 and other being the powerful 1.6-litre DDiS 320 engine both transmissions mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual gearbox respectively. Overall the company is offering the S-Cross in eight different variants that are categorized under two models namely DDiS 200 and DDiS 320.
