4. Hampi

Hampi is a temple town, which was one of the richest and largest cities in the world during its prime time. Located in the northern Karnataka, Hampi now is within the ruins of the city of Vijayanagra Empire.  The historical town of Hampi is a great place for visitors to have a glimpse of the long lost Vijayanagara Empire. The place holds great attraction for history lovers as well as for those who are interested in archaeology and architecture. In around 1500 AD Vijaynagar had about 500,000 inhabitants, making it the second largest city in the world after Beijing and almost thrice the size of Paris.          

5. Kurudumale

Located in the Kolar district of Karnataka, Kurudumale was believed to be where the Hindu Gods would descend from the heavens for recreation on earth. The name itself is derived from the words Koodu and Malai. This literally means meeting place.  The place is located about 10 km from the mulubagal town. The temple was built around a Ganesh idol by the Vijayanagara kings. There are several other legends associated with Kurudumale. The Ganesha temple has a 13.5 feet idol and the entire structure is done in two distinct styles designed by two different architects.
