The Smithsonian is the world’s largest museum complex comprising of 19 different museums and houses about 137 million objects detailing American history. Besides, the original Smithsonian Institution building, it boasts of the National Museum of Natural History, the National Zoological Park, the National Portrait Gallery, the National Air and Space Museum and more. It is said that “spending one minute day and night looking at each object on exhibit, in ten years you’d end up seeing only ten percent of the whole.” The main attractions of the Smithsonian are Dorothy’s ruby red slippers, the original Star-Spangled Banner, the Wright brothers’ 1903 Flyer, the Spirit of St. Louis, the Apollo 11 command module and many more.
