BENGALURU: Bekal, a cradle of mesmerizing views that is blessed with the magnificence of nature, best defines the phrase “Gods own Country.” Situated in the Kasargod district of north Kerala, Bekal has several attractions that will keep you spellbound. Bekal Fort

Built around 300 years ago, this fort is spread over 40 acres and is at a distance of 67 kms from Mangalore. It is elevated at 130 ft above the sea level and resembles a keyhole in shape, which according to historians was designed as a defensive measure. The fort houses an observation tower that gives a spectacular view of the nearby areas such as Kanhangad and Pallikere. It also fences a Hanuman temple and a mosque built by Tipu Sultan.
