For BJP senior leader L K Advani, greatest threat comes from the terror group SIMI. Many activists belonging to this faction are upset with him for his decision to ban the outfit during his tenure as Home Minister.
But according to the recent intelligence analysis, the threat perception against him has gone down significantly. Despite this, the outfit would still be looking for a golden chance to strike upon him. As SIMI always portray him as the extreme face of the BJP, they have tried to target him several times.
IB claimed, "Those interrogated have said that training camps and militant cadres were being organized to target some top leaders while they are being evasive about names. They said their targets were leaders associated with the Babri Masjid case and the Gujarat riots. The Samjhauta Express blast connection is also in the realm of possibility," reports The Indian Express.
