Narcotics Control Bureau#5 Narcotics Control Bureau:

With reference to Article 47 of the Indian Constitution the state’s endeavor is to bring about prohibition of consumption of psychotropic drugs and the NCB is the chief law enforcement and intelligence agency that was set up in this direction. The chief purpose of the NCB is to fight the drug trafficking in India. The organization is affiliated to the Ministry of Home Affair and also works closely with Economic Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of investigation, Indian Police and other agencies.

#4 Joint Cipher Bureau:

The joint Cipher Bureau works closely with the top intelligence agencies like R&AW and IB. Its primary task is encryption of sensitive data. To be more specific, it’s responsible for cryptology and SIGNIT (Signals Intelligence) for interception of symbols. They even provide cooperation and direction to other military service organizations with similar mission. They form a crucial support system but lack technical inputs as per the latest developments. The current tactical intelligence equipment is of Russian origin.

Directorate Of Revenue Intelligence#6 Directorate of Revenue Intelligence:

As revenue is a crucial department in a country, the sources of income are concerning. Revenue intelligence functions directly under the Central Board of Excise and Customs, in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue. Their key responsibilities are collection of intelligence data about smuggling, contraband goods and narcotics, under-invoicing among others through domestic and foreign sources. The agency also works in tandem with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) countries.
