This village has earned the name as the Capital of black magic and witchcraft. Mayong, a small village situated close to Morigaon, Assam, is popular for its art of magic and sorcery. The name of the place itself originates from the word ‘Maya’ which means illusion. However, the history of the mysterious entry of black magic to this land is yet unknown. The curiosity and belief of people in black magic even today draw them to this ‘Land of Black Magic’.

Shani ShingapurShani Shingapur

This is a strange village located about 350kms away from Mumbai, Maharashtra. A five feet tall black rock, Shani Devstahn, lies in the centre of the Shani Shingnapur village. In a crime prone world, this little village lives fearlessly in harmony in absence of doors and locks in their houses. This tiny hamlet is devoid of door and locks and believes that the temple is in charge of the safety of their homes. Their faith in Lord Shani is so intense that they have an idea that if someone steals they would be punished by the almighty himself.
