From contesting the Miss India beauty pageant, to becoming the country's most sought after TV 'bahu', and now the Minister for Human Resource and Development of India, 38 year old Smriti Irani's life has been a saga of meteoric rise to fame and success.

Since the start of her political career, Irani was already a popular media face. However, her popularity in political scenario reaches to another height when she was selected to take on Gandhi scion in Amethi in the Lok Sabha Election.

Smriti Irani is now the fourth most followed politicians in google and is most popular in Andhra Pradesh, then Delhi, followed by UP and Karnataka, according to Google Trends. Some tags that went trending are- #smriti irani, #6day yale degree, #YoSmritiSoCertified, #CelebDegree.

Three-term Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa, is one of India's most powerful politicians who have been ranked as the 5^th most Googled political leader.

Widely known as Amma or mother to her supporters, she was once a Tamil film actress who had lead roles in nearly 100 movies. She got her political start through former co-star M G Ramchandran's party, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Khazagham or AIADMK.

She is most widely searched for in Tamil Nadu, followed by Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra and is popular amongst female politicians.
