Chhattisgarh First Indian State to Execute Placement Agency Act

Under this act, any person, agent or agency will not be allowed to take minor girls out for domestic or any sort of work without having license.

N K Aswal, Principal Secretary Home Department confirming the move said, "Even as the bill was passed during July 2013 Vidhan Sabha session, the Act was waiting for formation of rules. Now that the rules have been formed, its notification would be done and Act shall be ready for implementation across the state. This would not only control human trafficking in state but will also help grabbing local touts and middlemen easily," reports TOI.

"The licensed agencies would be able to provide employment only to women above 18 years of age under strict conditions and time frame," Aswal added.

As per the rules of this act, the placement agencies that have been into existence prior to the notification of this Act shall get license within three months of notification.
