Challenge for AAP: Time to Fullfill Promises Made to Delhites

2 # Swaraj Bill

As AAP said during its campaign, that it believes in the ideology of Swaraj, the party will pass the Swaraj Bill as well to help the common man vested with power and avail good governance.

The promise on account of this was to transform the governance structure of Delhi to make communities the primary focus of decision-making at micro-level. Aam Aadmi Party promised to pass the Swaraj Bill to devolve power directly to the people.

Decisions affecting the local community will be taken by citizens, and implemented by their Secretariat.

3 # Full statehood for Delhi

The biggest promise waiting to be fulfilled is the granting of full statehood to Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal after winning the elections said he is on for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to demand full statehood for Delhi.

Granting statehood means vesting the state chief minister with control over the police, land and bureaucracy. Sources also confirmed that the government is seeking inputs from security agencies before giving the move a go-ahead. So, this means a tough task for the Central to grant, let’s wait and see.
