Asian Games 2014: India's High Medal Hope Athletes




Jitu Rai:

An Indian shooter of Nepalese origin Jitu Rai won accolades in the recently held Commonwealth games by winning a  gold with a superb finishing score– 194.1 is now eying for another gold to his kitty in the Asian Games 2014.

He was ranked World No.1 in men’s air pistol in the latest list released by the International Shooting Federation. The 27 year old army man is the seventh Indian shooter to achieve this feat and India is proud of him.

Rai became the first Indian shooter to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics after bagging a quota place with an impressive silver medal-finish at the 51st Shooting World Championships.

PV Sindhu:

Indian badminton star Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is the first Indian to win two medals in consecutive World Championships. Sindhu, who won two grand Prix Gold titles at Malaysia and Macau last year, had finished at the semifinals of 2012 China Super Series Premier, besides ending in the last four at the 2010 and 2013 India Super Series.

The first ever Indian woman to win a medal in singles at the World Championships, Sindhu teaming up with illustrious teammate Saina Nehwal will once again lead the charge and expectations are high in women’s singles from the only seeded Indians at Incheon.
