Six Major Parliamentary Developments which can be Linked with NaMo's Rule

BENGALURU: Since the advent of the Narendra Modi led NDA government also popularly known as the “Modi Sarkaar”, a significant number of reforms have been witnessed so far. These changes are predominantly more centric towards the functioning of both the houses of Parliament. Our Prime Minister has achieved global recognition for his globetrotting efforts to bring in more international collaboration, combined with an enhanced focus on promoting indigenous businesses. The transformation till now seems to be promising for the country’s future and his initiatives are securing the youth of the nation by creating increased job opportunities. “NaMo” today can only be occasionally seen making speeches in the legislative sessions despite of the growing restlessness amongst the opposition regarding his absence. Two years, and still marching forward strong with long term objectives, the government has painted a surreal picture of ideal political administration. Let us glance through some of these changes that have been tracked under his highly illustrious Modi Sarkaar.

Prime Minister’s Parliamentary Speech has become a “once in a blue moon” event

NaMo has undoubtedly motivated people in and around the globe with his highly inspiring speeches and plans for future. But, his prowess in making declamations doesn’t really let his absence in the proceedings of the parliament go unnoticed. The situation is aggravated by opposition’s demand seeking the Prime Minister’s opinion on crucial issues or bills. It so happens that NaMo has been observed confining himself inside the Parliament House complex during an ongoing session whenever he is not travelling or partaking in campaign for assembly elections. This era of Modi rule has already attracted criticism in the very first year of gaining power because of his absence in most of the House meetings. He executes most of his work right from the PM office situated in the complex and meets his ministers to discuss work.

Members of both the Houses lack the edge in exhibiting fiery oration skills

Sushma Swaraj, over the years has been one of the leaders from opposition capable of moving grounds with her talks. But NaMo’s rule has somehow ended up subduing this fiery female, when it comes to talking politics and being involved in the Parliamentary discussions. Another name in the ever-growing list of unheard voices would include SS Ahluwalia, who was previously hyperactive as a Deputy Leader in the Upper House. Meanwhile, the rule has also observed credible efforts from ministers, actively taking part in all Parliamentary matters. Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley has been seen all this while representing the government side in both houses of the Parliament, along with Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the Junior Parliament Affairs Minister. Lok Sabha, on the other hand has a strong majority of the governing party, implying shutting down of the opposition most of these times.

Congress, whereas with a minority of 44 members showcases Jyotiraditya Scindia and Mallikarjun Kharge as their star speakers.
