Six Major Parliamentary Developments which can be Linked with NaMo's Rule

Subramaniam Swamy empowers the minority government in Rajya Sabha

In Rajya Sabha, where government’s presence is a minority, Subramaniam Swamy’s political role has shaken the opposition to the very core. His presence has brought in lot of pep and vigor for the ruling party, and as a result strengthened the position of NaMo’s hold over the government. With an initial motive to take on the Gandhis, Modi brought in this man and since then Swamy’s actions have been speaking louder than the swords.

Rahul Gandhi’s political playhouse

The 16th Lok Sabha saw the addition of another significant member of the Gandhi family into the Indian Government, who has since then been exhibiting tomfoolery in most instances. The man walked around promoting his campaign with the catchphrase "suit-boot ki sarkar" and speeches, but his plans have only withheld the government back so far. At the same time, his initiatives to strengthen the young of team MPs are credible. This however doesn’t justify the fact that he is hardly present in the legislative assemblies.

Opposition is occupied in delaying bills

The Rajya Sabha falls little short in terms of majority presence, which enables the opposition to obstruct or delay important bills of the government. Crucial bills have to be send by government to Select Committee of the House, further elongating the process.

New trends indicate to the overgrowing presence of saffron robes and star power

The 16th Lok Sabha election also witnessed the rise of people wearing saffron robes or celebrities who contested to be part of the government. Some of the renowned saffron robe-cladded leaders would include the names of Sakshi Maharaj, Sadhvi Savitri Bai Phoole, Sumedhanand Saraswati, Chand Nath Yogi, Uma Bharti and Yogi Adityanath. Hema Malini, Babul Supriyo, Paresh Rawal, Vinod Khanna, Kirron Kher, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Shatrughan Sinha, Baker, Moon Moon Sen, Tapas Pal and Satabdi Roy are the celebrities who wield powers in the Parliament.
