Sachin's 'Playing It My Way' Is a Collection Of Surprises To Fans

BENGALURU: While we take pride in the fact that the ‘God of Cricket’ is from India, Sachin Tendulkar’s launch of his book, Playing It My Way, introduces us to a whole new side of him. The book seems to have everything we need to know about our hero, starting from his early life to love life after retirement.

Sachin expressed his emotions from deep down. According to him, there was a time in 1997, when he wanted to completely get away from the sport as he was ‘devastated’ by the ineptitude of the team under his captaincy. Wonder what the country would have missed had that happened.

He recalls before the book launch, that he, "hated losing, and as captain of the team I felt responsible for the string of miserable performances. More worryingly, I did not know how I could turn it around, as I was already trying my absolute best," as reports by PTI.

He says that it took a long time for him to get over the string of failures and get back in form. He seems to have confided in his wife about all his fears of end of his career. This period still haunts him as he goes down the memory lane.

He attributes a great weight of credit to his beloved wife, Anjali, for pulling him out of the dark days. She had that faith in Sachin which drove him to carry forth the spirit.

In the book, he also narrates the time he met the love of his life and how that love turned into a beautiful family that we see today. Their sweet story is a fairy tale in itself, which is reflected his deep attachment to his wife and children. His daughter was one of the few people to whom he presented a copy of his book. He quoted that he could live his dream only because of the immense support he received from his family.
