Sachin Tendulkar Launches His Official Facebook Page
Bangalore: The most recent celebrity to join Facebook is none other than Indian cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar. Within a few hours after joining the social networking website he got more than 4, 10,000 likes.
Tendulkar, who is now a member of the Upper House of Parliament, launched his official page on the social networking platform in order to interact with his fans from across the globe.
His first post was "Hello friends, I'll like to welcome you to my facebook family. As a child I always dreamt of playing cricket for India and I chased my dream of winning the World Cup for 22 years. It wouldn't have been possible without your support," as reported by India Today.
He further wrote, "I wanna take this opportunity to thank all of you for having prayed for me and wish well for me. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, join me on my facebook so that we both can share this experience and go through this journey together."
As per reports, the page will also showcase some exclusive pictures of Tendulkar. The Master Blaster already owns an account on microblogging website Twitter (@sachin_rt) since 2010, where he has more than 26, 80,790 followers.
His official Facebook Page will be a platform for his fans around the world to connect, interact, and engage with him. They will also have access to up-to-date information about his matches, his past achievements, etc.
Social networking is evidently growing in the country. Celebrities use social networking as a way of connecting with their fans and admirers.
