Modi's Three Nation Tour: Key Highlights


BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded with a ceremonial welcome in Paris on his first leg of three nation tour to France, Germany and Canada.  Soon after the ceremony Modi accompanied by the French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius attended the French CEO’s forum meetings, one on infrastructure and other on defence technology.

While he successfully begins his crucial three nation tour, all three being G-7 industrialized democracies, with an economic interest, here are the key highlights to look out for from the tour (with PTI Inputs):

1. Talks with French Nuclear Company Areva with an agenda to build nuclear reactors in India.

2. Attend the French CEO Forum meetings on infrastructural development and defence technology.

3. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the gathering at UNESCO Headquarters, where he will meet other political leaders.

4. He was invited to go on a boat-ride with the French President, Francois Hollande.

5. The objective of the trip is to boost India’s bilateral trade with France after his talks with Hollande, Modi is set to ink a generation of agreements.
