BENGALURU: Travel is not an economical activity and the same way space travel is not a cheap activity either. Very few countries can afford such monumental endeavors. In spite of investing so much,   space missions are still at high risk and may not have the expected results or fail on the whole. The huge money and the researches will be in the junk list when the project is a failure.

NASA’s Constellation Program:

Estimated Expenditure: $230 Billion

NASA’s Constellation program is so far the most expensive space mission that is yet to take off. The Constellation’s mission’s goal was to ‘colonize’ the moon and eventually send a manned spacecraft to mars. At that time, the President of United States estimated the cost of this Constellation program to be $230 billion. It was however dismissed by Barack Obama, as he stepped in. Just imagine how expensive these space missions can get.
