BANGALORE: The recently concluded 2014 Commonwealth Games (CWG) at Glasgow saw India make its strong position on the top five after England, Australia, Canada and Scotland. An amazing Indian team of 216 members bagged 15 gold, 30 silver and 19 bronze medals, making India proud with total of 64 medals in the bag. # Parupalli Kashyap (Badminton)

Parupalli Kashyap brought the curtains down on India's campaign in the 20th Commonwealth Games to a thunderous applause,

winning a historic gold in the men's singles badminton. He became the first Indian male shuttler in 32 years to win the gold medal in Commonwealth Games. The ace shuttler from Hyderabad was very elated. “In this kind of big game to win gold is a big deal for me. It's like a dream. I have dreamt of this since I was a child,” said Kashyap to PTI after clinching gold with a 21-14, 11-21, 21-19 win over Derek Wong of Singapore in the finals of men's singles.
