They have been an inspiration, a friend and a source of art to many young children. As time has flown by these comics which were written decades ago have been antique pieces which will always have a place in history. The craziest transformation of the comics of the 1930’s is that they cost millions of dollars at this present time.

These comics have become blockbuster movies in Hollywood grossing over millions for just one edition. Comics are becoming world renowned now and they are getting the touch of the modern era, which is only popularizing the original editions written decades ago. With this being said, here is the list of the most expensive comics in the world compiled by The Richest.

Action Comics #1:

The comic dates back to June 30, 1938, issued as the first comic action #1, where superman was introduced to the world and was heralded as the golden age of comics.

This original copy back in the day was only worth 10 cents, but was sold for a whopping $3.2 million, becoming the costliest comic to ever be sold in history. The bidding started at a humble $0.99, but rose to millions in just over an hour. Another copy of the same was bought by Nicholas Cage back in 2011 for $2.16 million.

Detective Comics #27:

The detective comic series is known to be the longest running published comic series in U.S history. The #27 edition was the costliest of the whole series which was sold for a whopping price of $2.2 million. This series introduced the billionaire playboy, Bruce Wayne, and his alter ego, Batman.
