9 Most Polluted Cities In The World, Delhi Tops the List



BANGALORE: ‘Pollution’- to be precise, smaller format of poison delivered in environment for free, which you never longed for. True for the above fact, pollution alone causes deadly diseases like cardiovascular disease, throat inflammation, chest pain, and congestion; directly or indirectly pollution is killing our lives.

A WHO report in May 2014 revealed that Delhi is the world’s most polluted city in the world, moreover India dominates the list with more than half of the world’s most polluted cities. Air pollution is the fifth largest cause of deaths in India, which has resulted into 6.2 lakh deaths last year.

1. Delhi

The capital city of India, Delhi has earned the tag of being the most polluted city among all the major cities in the world. A new study by U.S. and Indian scientists revealed that the city’s air quality is far worse than ever imagined.

Delhi, with more than 810 million registered vehicles, has the highest particulate matter pollution of 2.5 levels in the world which is almost five times above the safety threshold for humans; thus, Delhi’s air pollution has risen 44 percent since last year.

Now, Delhiites who were breathing easy post the introduction of CNG and green vehicles now have to worry about the air they breathe.
