Mumbai:

The financial capital of the country, Mumbai is the biggest metropolitan in the country. Previously, the city was called as Bombay and was named by a Portuguese explorer Francis Almeida, later it was renamed as Mumbai 1995. Before emerging as a consolidated city, it was an assembly of seven islands Bombay Island, Parel, Mazagaon, Mahim, Colaba, Worli, and Old Woman’s Island. In addition, Marathi fishing community is considered as the foremost settlers in the region.
