9 Indian Cities and Their Historical Facts


Delhi:

The national capital Delhi is one among oldest known cities of the country, some reports and inscriptions prove that it was a capital of Pandavas in 3500 BC and was called ‘Indraprasta.’ Further, in 1911, the British shifted the administration from Calcutta to Delhi, since then the city has remained our national political and an administrative capital.

Kolkata:

Kolkata, one of the biggest cites by population is also cited as the cultural capital of the country. All though the history the city has witnessed many major events, especially during the freedom movement it was stage for patriotic revolution.
