Narinder Singh Kapany (1962 – Present):

Under Digital India project the whole India is expected to get connected with Optical Fiber Network, but not many of us know about Narinder Singh Kapanym, an Indian physicist whose researches led to invention of high speed optic fiber internet. The researches of Kapany have also contributed to lasers, biomedical instrumentation, solar energy and pollution monitoring technologies too. Consequently In 1999 he was one among the Future magazine’s 7 unsung heroes. He also holds the Fellowship of various international scientific societies including the British Royal Academy of Engineering, the Optical Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Tim Berners-Lee (1955 – Present):

Tim Berners-Lee is a computer scientist from England, whose invention engrossed the whole world as
Lee is the founder of World Wide Web (WWW). In 1989 he successfully implemented information management system to communicate between Hypertext Transfer Protocol (Http) client and server, passing through the Internet. Today Lee is the director of the World Wide Web Consortium
