The game of Chess originated in India

The white and black board game, chess has conquered the world in no time. The precursors of chess originated in India during the Gupta Empire, where its early form in the 6th century was known as chatura?ga. The history of chess spans some 1500 years and the game was spread to Persia. When the Arabs conquered Persia, chess was taken up by the Muslim world and subsequently, through the Moorish conquest of Spain, spread to Southern Europe.

India gave the cure for Leprosy

Leprosy is the leading cause of permanent disability in the world and is primarily a disease of the poor. India is considered the point of origin of leprosy with skeletal evidence of the disease dating to 2000 B.C. But we have also provided the cure for the deadly disease though Indian medical treatise Sushruta Samhita in 6th century BC. But Atharva-veda 1500–1 200 BC, which was written far before Sushruta Samhita has also mentioned the traditional cures for the disease.
