All these days, every common man has to face so much difficulty in booking tickets as the reservation span was just 2 months before. But, here comes the good news for the commoners as this span has been raised to 4 months in the new rail budget.

Also there is an introduction of “Operation Five Minutes” for issuing unreserved tickets besides other initiatives like hot buttons, coin vending machines and concessional e-tickets for differently-abled passengers.

# E-catering

E-catering will be launched for select meals from an array of choices, ordering food through websites of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) at the time of booking tickets and integrating best food chains into the project.

According to Suresh Prabhu, Rail Minister said, “We are working to integrate the best food chains in our country into this project. Depending on the response from our customers, the facility will be extended to cover more trains," reports The Economic Times.

 "It is also intended to set up Base Kitchens in specified Divisions to be run by highly credible agencies for serving quality food," he added.
