An Efficient Administrator:

Along with BJP, Parrikar served Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for 25 years. In his term as Goa’s first BJP CM, Parrikar focused on issues concerning the common man and was known for his stern and ‘no nonsense’ administration, which he carried to the Defense Ministry.

Man of Simplicity:

Parrikar is not only highly revered man but also a simple man who doesn’t particularly believe in any kind of extravagance. Parrikar is always seen in simple attires and does not showcase the benefits provided by the Government of India. In spite of being the Chief Minister of Goa, he used his personal two-wheeler to commute to Vidhana Saudha instead of the red-beacon car and even declined almost all the benefits given to him.

Bound to his obligations:

Parrikar’s beloved wife died of cancer, 3 months prior to his oath-taking ceremony as the CM of Goa. Her death did not break his commitment to his duty. Parrikar, a father of two children attended the scheduled ceremony and performed his duties.
