7 Indians Who Are Conferred With The Asia's Highest Honour


Verghese Kurien:

Verghese Kurien, the milk man of India. Kurien is a social entrepreneur, who made India the highest milk producer with his “billion litre idea,” which is also the world's largest agricultural development program. Kurien is the founder of the most popular dairy brand ‘Amul.’ consequently for his achievements in ‘White Revolution,’ the Government conferred him Padma Shri 1965, Padma Bhushan 1966 and Padma Vibhushan 1999. Kurien’s feat got recognized in world stage when he won World Food Prize in 1989 and RMA in 1963.

Jayaprakash Narayan:

Jayaprakash Narayan also known as ‘Lok Nayak’ across India. Narayan was a founder and a prominent leader of Janata Party; however he was part of Indian National Congress and was an associate of Mahatma Gandhi during pre independence period. Narayan was awarded Posthumous Bharat Ratna in 1999 and RMA in 1965
