Viswanathan Anand

The five time World chess champion Viswanathan Anand is the Indian chess grandmaster who hails from Chennai. He made the country proud in the midgame. He has been on the top for a 6th longest record, 21 months and one of nine players in history to pass 2800 Elo on the FIDE rating list.

 While he is still continuing the game he is also involved with NIIT in its Mind Champions Academy initiative, in which they reach out to schools in order to promote chess and providing facilities for sharp, analytical and logical minds among students.

Pullela Gopichand

The face of badminton in India during the early 20s Gopichand is the second Indian player to repeat the All England championship victory by Prakash Padukone. The young player who hails from Andra Pradesh created a wave in the world with his remarkable performances. He has been awarded with Arjuna award, Dronacharya Award as well as Padhma bhushan.

He is the reason for Indians making it big in the Chinese dominant game. His Gopichand Academy produced world champion and Olympics medalist Saina nehwal, world championship medalist P.V Sindhu, common wealth medalist Parupali Kashyap and new badminton sensation Kidambi srikanth.
