9. Philippines

People living in provinces in southern Philippines tie terrorism in the Philippines with separatist claims.

The country has political conflicts carried out by rebel groups against the Philippine government, its supporters and citizens.Since 2000, the radical Islamist groups have carried out more than 40 major bombing against civilians and civilian properties. The terror attacks from 2000 to 2007 have killed nearly 400 Filipino civilians and more than 1500 people were injured.

The city that saw the highest number of terrorist attacks was Cotabato City in Mindanao with 11 separate attacks that killed 11 people. On an average, 83 percent of the 81 provinces of the Philippines had at least one terrorist attack in 2013.

8. Yemen

In Yemen, terrorist attacks and injuries increased by 50 percent between 2012 and 2013. At the same time, there were nine different groups active in Yemen in 2013, two major terrorist groups committed over 80 per cent of terrorist acts.

The other groups include tribesmen and separatists.

The terror threat from Muslim extremists, led to Jews in Yemen leaving their home and taking refuge. In 2008, a person was murdered because he refused to convert from Jew to Muslim; this is one of the most noted incidents of terrorism in Yemen.
