Kolkata:

The only city from India, Kolkata is at risk of natural disasters because of its coastal location. This city is also at risk of floods from rivers flowing within the state, cyclones from the sea and tsunamis. The city has a population of over 17 million risking very high death tolls.

India is not as advanced as Japan in terms of evacuation plans but they will have to since the likes of recent disasters from cyclone Hudhud and the floods witnessed in Kashmir. India needs solid plans to tackle these problems to save its people and the infrastructure that stretches across business, industries and architecture.

Shanghai:

China has two cities on this list, Shanghai; the capital of the world’s largest economy is high on the list. This city has been the victim of brutal natural disasters where many people have died and also cost infrastructural damages of up to 2 billion. The countries urban cities are at the highest risk of being affected by natural disasters.

China may not want to admit it but their capital is on the verge of being submerged in a few decades from now. They need to step their security measures towards natural disasters.
