10 Latvia
Suicide Rate: 22.9
Latvia is the North European country on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Latvia was hardest hit during the global financial crisis in 2008 among the member of the European Union (EU). However signs of stabilization were noted in the Latvian economy by 2010 which continue to improve, becoming one of the fastest growing economics of the EU. The country shows 10th highest suicide rate in the world, with 22.9 per lakh inhabitants.

9 Japan
Suicide Rate: 24.4
Japan has the 9th highest suicide rate and it has been dealing with the social issue of suicide for years now. The reasons for suicide include unemployment, depression and social pressure. Suicide rate in Japan is 24.4 per lakh inhabitants.
