10 Record Breaking Roads In The World

(2) The Most Dangerous Road In The World

The North Yungas Road aka ‘Road of fate’ or ‘Death Road’ is a 61-69-kilometre long road leading from La Paz to Coroico, in the Yungas region of Bolivia.

The danger of the road made it a favorite destination, drawing some 25,000 thrillseekers and mountain biking enthusiasts for downhill biking since there is a 64-kilometre stretch of continuous downhill riding with only one short uphill section.

In 2006, it was estimated that around 200 to 300 travellers were killed yearly along the road. The road includes cross markings on many of the spots where vehicles have fallen. There are now many tour operators catering to this activity, providing information, guides, transport, and equipment.

(3) The Most Complicated Roundabout In The World

The ‘Magic Roundabout’ in Swindon, England is known as the most complicated road in the world because it consists of five mini-roundabouts arranged around a sixth central, anti-clockwise roundabout.

Built in 1972, the complex junction of the road offers multiple paths between feeder roads and in places where traffic drives on the left hand side of the road.  It often confuses people to choose the outermost circle. In 2005, it was voted the worst roundabout in a survey by a U.K. insurance company.
