The thrilling movie not only keeps the audiences hooked with its story and characterization, but lighted up the eyes with amazing work of special effects.
The lesser known fact behind this movie is the striking similarity with the German play, Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of Nibelung) also known as “The Ring Cycle” by Richard Wagner premiering in 1869. The play revolved around a magical ring giving power to the owners and the fight over its ownership.
While the present Lord of the Rings revolves around the similar kind of powerful ring set in a mythological world of middle-earth; while the German play was based on Norse and German mythology

The best animation by Disney is still viewed as a great drama and loved by children and even grown-ups. Though
The Lion King is inspirational; it is thought to be a modern version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, sharing some similarity in the plot. The other inspirations behind the movie ‘The Lion King’ were Japanese Manga and anime story called ‘Kimba the White Lion’ by Osamu Tezuka, and going much earlier known lion king epic in Mali, where the founder the king, was forced into exile before he came back to own his throne back.
Striking similarities between these movies did not let Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ lose its charm and it went on to win 2 Oscars and other recognitions with various nominations.
