Women Who Made Their Mark As Entrepreneurs

BENGALURU: At some places in India, women are regarded with high respect and even worshipped, while at other places they are accused, abused, harassed and sometimes even killed before they are born. Being an Indian, on this occasion of Women’s day, it would be a great honor on our part to offer a tribute to those dynamic women from India who are not only running valuable companies, but have made their specific identity on the global world, as reported by the Economic Times.

Suchi Mukherjee: Suchi Mukherji, 41, is the CEO and Founder of LimeRoad, an online shopping site for women accessories and apparels. While going through a magazine, this thought of providing people with lovely products and easy shipments came to her mind.

She went through a lot of trouble starting from infrastructure to a reliable internet connection. She believes in networking, hard-work and being deliberate in order to overcome challenges.

Richa Kar: Richa Kar, who is only 32 is the Founder and CEO of Zivame.com, which is another online shopping site for women. Buying lingerie is really a tough job for most of the women in India, because of the unavailability of size and poor market penetration. Hence Richa came up with an online website for lingerie.

The biggest challenge she faced was changing people’s mentality regarding the category of the garment. She said that she dreams big, hires talented people and takes her decision independently.
