Obama's Attempt to Amend: Outsourcing to Stay

Bangalore: The outsourcing industry will stay in this highly globalized world. This statement, given by one of Obama’s aide, has come as a contradiction to Obama’s statement earlier when he held Mitt Romney responsible for giving away American jobs to cheap wage countries like China and India.

It will be worth mentioning that Romney was running Bain Capital that made investments in firms whose job was to move American jobs to countries like China and India.

During times when U.S. Presidential election is at its peak of surge, statements from both the contestants are aimed at slicing other contestant’s foundation. This recent statement coming from Obama’s camp is more like an amend to damages that his previous statement created.

So exactly what is outsourcing? Outsourcing is a process when a company sends its employees to a subsidiary of its own, outside the country, but the company pays another firm to all together do that job. Consider an example where IBM sends its employee to their subsidiary outside the country, for instance India. The whole process will be done by another company and is paid by IBM.

But the recent developments have come as relief to millions of people who are working in the outsourcing industry and has ensued faith in Obama that though he will be making attempts to boost up the job opportunities in India, he will not compromise it with hampering the career of those already in the outsourcing industry.
