IBM Ties Up With Department Of Futures Studies, University Of Kerala


Bangalore: IBM announced that Cognos Express solution is now a part of the curriculum at the Department of Future Studies, University of Kerala, Thiruvanthapuram.

The Department of Futures Studies at University of Kerala will now impart a course on the IBM Cognos Solution that will enable the students to analyze data in a business context and quickly gain insight and understand any organization’s performance and trends.

The Department of Futures Studies has played a significant role in imparting education, research and consultancy services. The one year - Post Graduate Diploma in Knowledge Management (PGDKM) is offered under “Innovative programme” banner and is designed to mould young professionals as Knowledge Managers and make them industry-ready for a varied set of career options.

The course focused on IBM Cognos Express will help the students understand the integrated business intelligence and planning solution for mid size companies. The express solution delivers all the essential reporting, analysis, dashboard and planning capabilities that midsize companies need at a price they can afford. IBM is the only vendor to offer integrated reporting, analysis and planning in one solution purpose built for midsize companies and with room to grow all on the same platform.

IBM also provided support in the practical hands on training in Cognos, to complement the theoretical teaching as part of the curriculum. The course will enable the students to analyze data in a business context and quickly gain insight and understand any organization’s performance and trends.
