The Most Secretive Firms In The World

Bridgewater

Bridgewater Associates sounds like a company that faintly rings a bell, even if you’re not sure precisely what they do.  This is mainly because this is all that Bridgewater wants you to be aware of. For a very long time, this hedge fund (Bridgewater is the largest private hedge fund in the world) was secretive about absolutely everything: how much they earned, how much they spent, who their clients were and how much money their CEO is making.

The founder of the company, Rod Dalio, finally stepped into the spotlight after some of the fund principles were leaked to the public and talked about matters of public interest like global warming and increase in income inequality.

Apple

Apple is one of the most secretive companies in the world, even the location of some of their cafeterias, are a secret to the public as well as to some Apple employees. The company is publicly listed, and so it has to declare all its financial information, but it is very secretive about the components of its products. It has sued media outlets, fired employees for leaks. They even plant false information so that they can trace the leaks and take apt measure to control them in the future.

However, since any new news from Apple spreads like wild fire; perhaps they have a reason to be fearful. Product launches are carefully timed to avoid having to compete with other manufacturers.
