Google To Alphabet: What, Why and Who?

Now coming to the questions regarding ‘Alphabet’ the first one:

What

So what is Alphabet after all? Is it the same with a different name or does it perform the same operations as Google? No, it does not. As we all know Google has been investing like crazy in promising areas which proved profitable. Calico, Fiber, Nest, Google X and all the others are projects which were so far under Google and now with the rebranding move the company has brought all these under a single tent which is— ‘Alphabet’.

So Alphabet is the parent company which will be the umbrella bearer taking all the projects under it and Google will be a small entity that will handle all its previous services which include the Google search engine, ads, Android, YouTube, maps, and so on. Accordingly Google will have a new CEO Sundar Pichai, who is the face behind the development and success of Chrome.
