Budget 2015: Key Things The Telecom Industry is Expecting

# Relaxed norms for spectrum trading & sharing and merger & acquisitions

The digital world is worried over less number of spectrum space prevailing in the country and is expecting that government remove limitations over spectrum trade and mergers in this field. As airwaves are underutilized and needs to be worked upon more effectively.

This is the expectation based on goal of the Indian government to make India digitized and more Indian using more of the technology. Relaxed norms with respect to spectrum sharing and trading and M&A will aid further unification in the telecom sector towards positive and better growth.

# Make more spectrums available

With demand rising of network usage, the less available spectrum space is worrying the telecom industry. As demanded by all the government needs to provide more spectrums. “We want from the government more spectrums.

Every country has the same amount of spectrum and it is not that India has less. It needs to be vacated from other places, that are what other countries have also done,” Sunil Mittal, Bharti group Chairman said on the sidelines of the India Economic Summit.
